South Side Coffee Company may be a young company, but coffee has been ingrained in my soul for as long as I can remember. Coffee has always been more than a morning pick-me-up, it’s what bonds families, friends, and even strangers. A simple gesture of hospitality and goodwill, meant to be shared at any time of day.

I’m Mark, and my quest for the perfect cup started many, many years ago as a 12-year-old paperboy on the South Side of Bloomfield. Each morning began with a cart of newspapers in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. It was bitter and burnt, but it jumpstarted my journey to find and brew something better.

Simple times. Simple happiness.

I’ve come a long way since those days. A lifetime of learning, curiosity, and inspiration has led me here, but my values have always remained the same. That’s why at South Side, I keep it simple: source sustainable coffee, roast it fresh, and never forget where I came from.

As a small-batch artisan roaster, I started Southside Coffee Co in Scotch Plains, NJ to bring high-quality specialty coffee to customers across New Jersey. We source only the highest-quality specialty coffees available and focus on individualized orders. Every batch is roasted to order, allowing for maximum freshness and careful quality control.

Some have called me a coffee snob; others say I obsess. In the end, I just want to share a bit of happiness through a drink that brings us together.
